Saint Louis University’s Center for Social Action promotes many forms of community engagement, from episodic service to more in-depth involvement. This list of one-time volunteer opportunities will help SLU students, faculty or staff make a difference based on your schedule and interests. Many are perfect for groups.

Music at the Intersection

What: Volunteers are needed for the annual Music at the Intersection event in Grand Center, helping with all aspects of the concert. Meals and free admission provided to all volunteers!

Interfaith Partnership of St. Louis

What: Volunteers are needed for the Father Dixon Cemetery Clean Up, helping maintain this historic cemetery by trimming branches, cleaning up headstones, etc.

Isaiah 58 Ministries

What: Volunteers are needed for Shop Out Hunger. Volunteers will stand outside of Schnucks and invite shoppers to buy items to donate directly to Isaiah 58 Ministries. You will also collect donations and help load them into the van.
When: from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 16

NAMI St. Louis

What: Volunteers are needed for Pathways to Hope, a powerful and inspiring mental health conference focused on fostering wellness and resilience within Black communities. Volunteers will help support a transformative day that brings together college students, parents, families, and community members for education, honest conversation, cultural connection, and collective healing.
When: Friday, August 22 with shifts available anytime from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

What: Volunteers are needed for Operation Clean Stream, helping tackle the damage caused by flooding, careless littering and illegal dumping. Whether you prefer working from canoes and boats, along the shoreline, or in nearby parks and trails, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved.

What: Volunteers are needed for our Women Warriors Baby Shower, a drive-thru event for expecting and new veteran mothers that provides essential baby items, resources, and a celebration of new life for those who have served. DeSales Community Development

What: Volunteers are needed to help inventory and organize equipment in the Fox Park Field House at the end of DeSales' summer youth baseball season - a program provided free-of-charge to local families. Volunteers will help count, organize, and reshelf baseball equipment (helmets, gloves, bats, etc.) and extra uniforms.
