Gregory Triplett, Ph.D.

Inaugural Dean of the School of Science and Engineering

 
Gregory E. Triplett Jr., Ph.D., is the current dean of the School of Science and Engineering at Saint Louis University (SLU), bringing a distinguished background in engineering education and research leadership. As the former senior associate dean for academic affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), Triplett oversaw significant advancements in engineering programs, including a 42% increase in enrollment from underserved populations and a rise in annual research expenditures from $11 million to over $30 million.

Triplett’s career is marked by a commitment to student success, securing nearly $17 million in research funding, authoring over 140 publications, and receiving numerous awards for teaching and mentorship. His leadership aligns with SLU’s Jesuit mission to drive innovation and collaboration across sectors to address social and technological challenges. Triplett holds a Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology and has held roles at the University of Missouri and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
